ASP platform increasing in popularity, says EISI product expert

While the features and functionality in financial planning software packages continuously evolves; the way advisors access their software has changed dramatically over the past few years. Explains Antoinette Alexander in her article "Webbed Planning" (Accounting Technology, September 2008): “it’s the platform that is rapidly changing as the Internet-based applications assume a greater role in this market.”

Dr. Linda Strachan, EISI’s Senior Vice-President, Product Marketing is cited in the article. She predicts that the Application Service Provider (ASP) model will continue to grow in popularity as increased attention is given to data security – one of the platform’s key features.

EISI’s product shelf has included Web-based versions of NaviPlan and Profiles software for years. The latest versions of NaviPlan Standard and NaviPlan Extended are available on the NaviPlan Central platform, while the most recent releases of Profiles Professional and Profiles Forecaster are delivered on Profiles OnDemand.

Explains Alexander: “A subscription to Profiles OnDemand offers management and planning tools, including versions of Profiles Professional and Profiles Forecaster software that function nearly identically to desktop counterparts but feature enhanced case management capabilities. Data is stored in a centralized database.” A NaviPlan Central subscription offers similar benefits, and is equipped with data import capabilities, and progress reporting functionality.
