EISI’s NaviPlan and Profiles software will be ready and waiting for the release of Microsoft’s Windows 7 OS

October 22 marks the release date of Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system (OS). Explains Davis Janowski in his Investment News article titled Windows 7: What Advisers Need to Know, Windows 7 is a sleeker, faster, more stable version of its predecessors, notably Vista.

Although Vista was unsuccessful at penetrating the business market, Windows 7 is expected to capture the “75% to 85% of business desktops” still using XP.

Explains Paul Thiessen, Chief Architect, Emerging Information Systems Inc.: “The majority of our (NaviPlan and Profiles) users are still on XP,” but EISI anticipates advisers to migrate to Windows 7.

In Janowski’s article, Thiessen says: “There certainly is more confidence among developers this time around.”

Thiessen also assures advisers that compatibility testing of the Profiles and NaviPlan product lines is well underway, and that EISI’s software will be ready in time for Microsoft’s October release date.
